Abstract:We introduce some important ideas and methods in the study of number theory through some examples in number theory.
The brief introduction to the reporter: Tian Ye, the reasearchfellow in the Institute of mathematics and system science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received his doctorate in Columbia University in 2003. He was selected to the CAS "Hurdred Talents Program" in 2007 and won the silver award of "ChenXing" mathematics in the same year. Then he won the twelfth China Youth Science and Technology Award in 2011. His main research fields are number theory and arithmetic algebra geometry. In 2013, he won the Ramanujan prize.
