报告摘要：We describe some conditions guaranteeing that, with high probability, the Lasso problem solves feature selection, together with an analysis showing that under essentially the same conditions the Lasso problem can be efficiently solved even under the presence of inexact input readings. All the involved notions will be explained during the talk.
报告人简介：Felipe Cucker，香港城市大学数学系荣誉教授，欧洲科学院院士、巴塞罗那皇家科学与艺术院院士。Cucker教授的研究兴趣非常广泛，从实代数几何、电脑科学、复杂性到学习理论、群集模型。他在包括Annals of Mathematics在内的顶尖数学杂志上发表论文100余篇。他解决了菲尔兹奖获得者Steve Smale提出的“21世纪18个数学问题”中的第17个问题，合作撰写了复杂性领域的经典著作《Complexity and real computation》（其他三位作者为：Lenore Blum, Michael Shub, Steve Smale）。他是Society for the Foundations of Computational Mathematics的主要发起人之一，现任（或曾任）Foundations of Computational Mathematics、Journal of Complexity、SIAM Journal on Optimization、 Theoretical Computer Science等期刊编委。
