报告摘要：In this talk, I will demonstrate topological freeness of the actions on the visual boundary of a proper CAT(0) space and on the Roller boundary of a proper CAT(0) cube complex by a group with a rank-one element. Then I will show their applications to C*-algebras such as C*-simplicity of groups and regularity properties of crossed product C*-algebras. This is based on a joint work with Daxun Wang and Wenyuan Yang.

报告人简介： 马昕，哈尔滨工业大学数学研究院教授. 他于2019年在David Kerr的指导下从美国得克萨斯A&M大学获得博士学位, 随后在美国纽约州立大学布法罗分校、美国孟菲斯大学及加拿大多伦多大学从事博士后研究. 他目前的研究兴趣主要集中在动力系统、算子代数、几何群论、模型论及其与非交换几何、遍历理论、几何拓扑和描述集合论的交叉. 论文发表在《J. Funct. Anal.》、《Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.》、《Ergodic Theory Dynam. Systems》、《Int. Math. Res. Not. IMRN》、《J. London. Math. Soc.》等期刊上。
