Abstract:Various Alexandrov-Fenchel type inequalities have appeared and played important roles in convex geometry, matrix theory, and algebraic geometry. It has been noticed for some time that they share some striking analogs and have intimate relationships. In this talk I will review these anlogs and shed new light on them by comparatively investigating them in several aspects.
The brief introduction to the reporter:Li Ping, a professor of the school of mathematics and science of Tongji University, received a PhD in Peking University in July 2009. He was mainly engaged in the study of manifold topology. He has published more than twenty papers in the international mainstream mathematics journal and was funded by the National Excellent Youth Fund in 2017.
